Jada, dog saved from being shot by her owner, an Amish breeder

Berlin, OH - Jada's owner was going to shoot her - because she was not producing enough live puppies for him to sell. Jada, a purebred Rottweiler of just 3 years, was going to be killed just because she was not a money maker.

How many tragic stories have to be shared for people to understand that puppy mills are inhumane?

How many photos of neglected, sickly dogs have to be shared in order for people to realize that the adorable, purebred puppy being purchased at the pet store was at the expense of another dog that is being forced to breed like livestock?

Jada is lucky - she was rescued before her owner - an Amish puppy mill breeder - could shoot her.

Her body is ravaged by un-treated, painful hot spots. She suffers from mange - her ears have a yeast infection...terrible conditions that leave a dog in misery.

But again, she is one of the lucky dogs - she was saved at 3 years of age - she did not survive years on end, suffering from these painful maladies - producing litter after litter for her "owner" to sell.

She was not shot by the man that was frustrated that her puppies were dying.....

Jada is receiving care from a veterinarian now - her hot spots are being tended to, and her mange is being treated. Her future is bright.

Despite being neglected and in pain, Jada allowed her caregivers to treat her many wounds - she was patient and gentle as strangers tended to the raw skin.

Jada is going to make it - because someone cared enough to get her out of the horrible situation that she was existing in.

The individual that saved Jada's life has established a chip-in for her care, or, donations can be made directly to the vet clinic that is treating her.

You can access the Chip-In at this link and the Viking Community Animal Hospital link here.

Jada is safe - but the dogs left behind are not. Many people do not realize that in the Amish community, puppy mills, are common and accepted.

Something needs to change.
