Jacqui Lambie, Australian senator, says she wants wealthy and hung partner

Jacqui Lambie, an Australian Senator for Tasmania and a former enlistee in the Australian Army, makes embarrassing American politicians look quite tame. The 43-year-old outspoken politician of the Palmer United Party shocked radio listeners on Tuesday morning during an interview in which she was asked about her being single. In her response, she indicated that she was looking for a man who was financially well-to-do and well-endowed, according to a Yahoo! News report on Tuesday.

In the interview with Tasmanian radio, Lambie mentioned that she had been single for 11 years. She also said she had lost her energy to date men by raising her two sons and by experiencing personal struggles that had left her physically and psychologically damaged for so long. That’s when the interviewer asked her what she looked for in a partner. Not skipping a beat, she immediately responded that she was looking for a partner that must have heaps of cash and he must have a package between his legs. She also said that she doesn’t need her partner to speak. That, she summarized, makes “the perfect man.”

Among those in the audience was a young man named Jamie called into the radio station. Lambie asked the 22-year-old if he was rich. She told him that she was just a bit concerned that a 22-year-old and living in Tasmania might not be there yet, financially. Jamie assured her that he had money as he had inherited a great deal of cash. He also assured her that he could handle dating a powerful woman nearly twice his age. Then, shockingly, Lambie asked Jamie, “Are you well hung?” He immediately responded, “Like a donkey.” Lambie said she has a 24-year-old son who says that too.

Following the radio interview, Lambie claimed that she had tried to cover up her embarrassment in the line of questioning about her love life by making a joke, according to The Guardian. She said that a lot of people laughed, including the man she was speaking to. She also admitted that many people may have got offended. In summation, she said, “I apologize to any radio listeners who may be offended by my comments on Kim and Dave’s show.” She added, “Of course my political enemies will make a big deal out of my comments, but the reality is I was talking with Kim and Dave on Heart FM – not Sarah Ferguson on the ABC.”

Lambie said she also spoke of important issues regarding finances for Australian families, but those comments haven’t received national coverage. Lambie has been outspoken on many issues in the past. Last month, she said that Prime Minister Tony Abbott is a political psychopath. She has also accused Abbott of risking the safety of his daughters by parading them around during his federal election campaign. She has refused to apologize for her comments about the prime minister.
