Socialite and youngest sister of former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Lee Radziwill is upset that her former daughter-in-law, Carole Radziwill is a main cast member on the Bravo reality series, Real Housewives of new York.
A source close to Lee Radziwill said that she is “mortified” her family name is now tied to reality show. Carole Radziwill was married to Lee’s only son, Anthony from 1994 until 1999. Anthony Radziwill died from cancer in 1999 just a few weeks after his famous cousin, John F. Kennedy Jr., died in a plane crash.
The source described Lee Radziwill as “fiercely private and reclusive.” Radziwill, the source claims, “guards her privacy with a vengeance and has expressed her disappointment that Carole used the Radziwill name on The Real Housewives of New York.”
“It’s just tack. Lee believes Tony never would have wanted Carole to be a part of reality television and she can’t quite grasp why anyone would want to be on a television show with women fighting and getting drunk. Fortunately, she lives in Paris and that puts some distance between her and the sensational headlines.”
Carole Radziwill has described the upcoming season as “bat sh*t crazy.” Radziwill, who is a journalist, revealed in an interview just last week, “I wouldn’t compare any of the shows, just like I wouldn’t compare the cities.”
“New York has its own unique style of drama. But on a scale from 1 to bat sh*t crazy? It’s bat sh*t.”
The Real Housewives of New York premieres on March 11 at 9/8c.
