Jacoby Jones on DWTS? Ravens star wants 'Dancing With the Stars' spot

Will TV viewers soon see Jacoby Jones on DWTS? Apparently the Super Bowl 2013 champion from the Baltimore Ravens is seeking a spot on "Dancing With the Stars" for season 16. Will he be the next NFL star to win the mirrorball trophy?

A report on Feb. 8 from The Baltimore Sun talks of Jones who recently appeared on the "Jimmy Kimmel" show to talk of the Super Bowl, getting sleep, his mom's cooking, and his dancing skills. Jones graces the cover of this week's Sports Illustrated" and told Kimmel he practices touchdown dances regularly to perfect moves.

Jacoby told Kimmel:

"I have my dances, I make 'em up," Jones said. "I do my dance. I see what my teammates think. I'll be in the mirror practicing."

When asked by Kimmel if he would want to be on the ABC show "Dancing With the Stars," Jones responded:

"Hey, man, do polar bears poo on ice? I hope they wouldn't do it in water. That's nasty. I'm ready, baby."

If Jones joins the show, he would follow several other NFL stars who have been featured on the show, and possibly follow in their footsteps as champion. The recently-retired Green Bay Packers star Donald Driver was one of the most recent "DWTS" winners from the NFL, while Emmit Smith won an earlier season. Other football stars to appear on the show have included Jerry Rice and Jason Taylor.

"Dancing With the Stars" is currently on break from ABC until it resumes with season 16. If Jacoby Jones makes the roster of celebrities dancers, Roanoke viewers will be able to see his dance moves on display on Cox Cable channel 13.
