Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens Main Entrance
As you dive your hand into the cool water, you feel the slimy, slippery, and rubberlike underside of a real stingray as he swims by. Later, you grab a branch filled with leaves and watch as an African giraffe reaches his sticky tongue out to softly pick each leaf off the branch, one by one. The day ends with a romantic old fashioned train ride through beautiful gardens from around the world. There is only one place in Jacksonville where you can have a hands-on adventure with the gardens and animals of the world - the Jacksonville Zoological Gardens.
The world famous zoo in Jacksonville is a playground for the young and the old. The zoo features a multitude of animals from regions that scatter the globe. Guests enter the 26,000 square-foot Camp Safari Lodge where they will find zoo themed gifts, food kiosks, and special event rooms. Just outside the lodge, the zoo loop is the all access route to the exhibits. From the loop, visitors can access all the regions of the park including the African Loop, Wild Florida, Range of the Jaguar, the Australian Adventure, and the Asian Bamboo Gardens.
