Jacksonville VisionWalk Kick Off marks the start of fundraising season

The 6th Annual Jacksonville VisionWalk Kick Off will take place Saturday at Maggiano's Little Italy at the St. John's Town Center from 9-11 a.m.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear a genetic counselor from Mayo Clinic, Kimberly Guthrie, present at the event.

Since its inception in the Spring of 2006, VisionWalks across the nation have raised over $28 million to fund sight-saving research, according to the VisionWalk website. The VisionWalk is the signature fundraising event for the Foundation Fighting Blindness, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

The 6th Annual Jacksonville VisionWalk will take place on April 26 at the University of North Florida.
