The Jacksonville Sharks, the Arena League's 2013 South Division champions, announced on Friday that the final round of auditions for their Attack Dance Team cheerleading squad will be held on Saturday, October 5.
The event will be held at Latitude 30 at 2:00pm and will be open to the public. The Latitude 30 entertainment complex is located at 10370 Philips Highway in Jacksonville.
At this year’s finals, each dancer will have an opportunity to perform in front of fans before the final squad is revealed to those in attendance.
This final showcase will serve as the culmination of a two-week audition process.
Auditions begin with three days of “prep classes,” to be held on September 23, 24 and 25. The preliminary round will take place on Friday, September 27, with the semi-finals set for the following day. All rounds of auditions prior to the finals will take place at First Class Athletics, the cheerleading gym owned and operated by Attack Dance Team director Kimberly Mayo.
Athletes from First Class Athletics will perform periodically throughout the Attack finals during judging and other breaks in action.
There is a $60 audition fee per dancer, payable by cash or credit card. Dancers will also be asked to print and complete a tryout packet prior to the first round of auditions. The packet contains dates and times for each step of the audition process as well as a registration form.
Those who wish to try out should bring the completed packet, a recent color photograph and the registration fee to the first audition session.
