The new year is here and we have some exciting new events for 2013! These events include a concert and DJ event at Suite (likely the best club/lounge in the Jacksonville area), a new beer release at Intuition Ale,
Event #1: Suite's 2 Year Anniversary Week: Suite servers some excellent tapas and some of the coldest cocktails in the world called "N-tini." These drinks were discussed in our previous article at this link and consist of nitrogen-infused drinks that actually smoke for ~2 minutes after they are served because they are so cold. We recommend the Orange Crush N-Tini, with Grey Goose L'Orange, Triple Sec, and orange juice. As for tapas, the lamb lollipops were fantastic and highly recommended. This whole week, Suite will be putting on various events to celebrate the past two years, which included visits from over 250,000 patrons. Here is a list of the musical acts and events that you can expect throughout the week:
- Wed. 1/9/13: Latin Fusion
- Thurs. 1/10/13: Ladies Night
- Fri. 1/11/13: The Captains of the Industry featuring DJ Stonerokk and Graham Funke, who perform in Las Vegas, Miami, and LA as individuals and will perform as a duo for the first time at Suite.
- Sat. 1/12/13: Roonie G The World's Best Video DJ
Event #2: Underdark Release, Pacha Kucha 23, and Musical events @ Intuition Ale Works: We've written several times about Jacksonville's premier craft brewery called Intuition Ale Works, including the article found at this link. On Saturday, Jan. 19 from 1-9pm, Intuition will be releasing their latest beer called Underdark. Based on the legend of the Underdark, which Intuition says is "a vast dark and dangerous place where few brave souls have journeyed, and from which even fewer have returned." In other words, this is a very dark beer that will go for $15 each and bottle purchases are cash only. There is a limit of two bottles per person and quantities are limited. Underdark tee shirts will also be sold for $20 and snifters for $6 will also be on sale. For food, On the Fly food truck will be available in the courtyard. Also upcoming is the Pacha Kucha event on Tues. Jan. 15 in the brewery bar beginning at 6:30pm. This event involves individuals from varying professions getting up in front of everyone and talking about their passions with 20 slides that last no more than 20 seconds. On the Fly will also be available for food at this event. Intuition puts on musical events ever Tues. for Tap Room Tunesdays. Here is a list of the acts that will perform in the upcoming weeks (two music sets will take place in the tap room beginning at 7:30 and 9pm):

- Jan. 15: Bill Rice
- Jan. 22: Louie LeClaire
- Jan. 29: Pam Affronti
Event #3: Ad-Hoc Dinner at Aqua Grill: This dinner occurs monthly at Aqua grill and this one will take place on Wed. Jan 9 stdarting at 6:30pm. The theme is Southern style with a "cosmopolitan flair" and includes the following for $44 per person:
Cheese: Flat Creek Lodge Georgia Red
Salad: Endive & Frisee
Entree: Guinness Mustard Glazed Grilled Beef Shortribs
Dessert: Banana Bread Pudding
