Jacksonville restaurant event for February 2013 and Valentine's Day

February is a buy time in terms of restaurant events of course due to Valentine's Day. To begin, here are some links to previous articles we've written, detail the best restaurants in the area for a special occasion like Valentine's Day:

The restaurants in these articles should provide some excellent ideas about where to take your loved one on this special day. Several of the restaurants described in the preceding links are offering special events during February and in honor of V-day. Here is what we know so far:

Event #1: Valentine's Day Week @ Grand Bohemian

The Grand Bohemian hotel in Orlando, FL is an upscale and hip downtown hotel that we would recommend driving down from Jacksonville to visit. The flagship restaurant called "The Boheme" is a AAA Four-Diamond restaurant and offers some of the most impressive decor we've seen in a restaurant (go to this previous Jacksonville Fine Dining Examiner article for more specifics). Dishes like the Kessler Calamari, named after the hotel's proprietor Peter Kessler, is definitely one to try. In celebration of Valentine's Day, The Boheme is putting on a special event lasting from February 9-16. The event will include exclusive menu items from Executive Chef Laurent Hollaender.

Event #2: Special Prix Fixe Menus @ Wine Cellar

Wine Cellar may have the most impressive wine selection in downtown Jacksonville. The food at this restaurant fortunately pairs well with the wine. Wine Cellar is offering a new three-course Prix Fixe menu for $35 per person, which is served on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. Here's what they have to offer:

First course (choice of one):

Roasted Tomato Bisque
Baby Arugula Salad
Shrimp and Corn Cake
Marinated Vegetable Terrine

Second course (choice of one):

Bronzed Fresh Cod
Stuffed Quail Breast
Filet of Beef Tenderloin

Third course (choice of one):

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Pudding
Strawberries Romanoff Sundae

Event #3: Music and Words of Love @ Marsh Landing Country Club

On Thursday, February 14 from 6:30-9:30pm the Ponte Vedra Woman's Club will be hosting an event at March Landing Country Club in celebration of Valentine's Day and in support of the following charities:

Beaches Habitat for Humanity
St. Vincent de Paul
Hugs Across the Country
Missino House
YMCA

Dress is cocktail attire and costs $100 per person. The price of admission includes hors d'oeuvres, a three-course surf and turf dinner, liquor tasting, and wine. Entertainment will include live music featuring love songs from Broadway musicals, a silent auction, and poetry. Event #4: Special Valentine's Day menu @ Roy's

We think Roy's is one of the top restaurants to take a date in Jacksonville. The food, ambiance, and service is all top-notch. In terms of food, we think their Lakanilau sushi roll is the best in Jax and their fish-focused main courses, wine, and desserts are also excellent at this Hawaiian/American-fusion restaurant. For Valentine's Day, Roy's is offering a four-course prix fixe menu developed by Adam Hyatt, which features the following (see this link):
