Earl Allen/ Craigslist

On Monday morning, Earl Allen of Jacksonville, Fla. parked his truck at the local Walmart on Lem Turner Road when thieves came around, broke into his truck, and stole his two dogs and a gun which were inside the vehicle reported the first coast news.com.

Worried sick about his two beloved Boston terriers and one of the dogs needing daily medication, Turner decided to place an ad on Craigslist offering to pay a reward of $100 and ask no questions for the return of his dogs.

When someone responded to the ad who alleged he lived ten miles from the Walmart, Turner met up with the person, paid the ransom and was reunited with his dogs.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the vehicle the thieves were driving and the theft were caught on video surveillance. Authorities are now looking for a white Chevy 3500 truck with a dent in the passenger side door.

Allen's stolen gun has not been found.

If you have any information about the location of these individuals or vehicle is asked to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500 or CrimeStoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.
