Anthony Curtis Porch was charged with three counts of animal cruelty after watching his ex-wife's three dogs fight, mortally hurting each other, and then leaving the dogs to suffer and die in his Jacksonville neighborhood backyard reported the Florida Times-Union.

When authorities arrived at the residence located on the 6600 block of Buffalo Avenue, a smell of decaying bodies was apparent. Porch said he thought the dogs would recover. One of the dogs' bottom jaw had been ripped away from its mouth. Another dog had crawled under the front porch.

No one knows how long the dogs suffered, but it is estimated they could have languished in agony for weeks.

Porch stated he didn't have the money to take the dogs to a veterinarian and that they all belonged to his ex-wife.

Porch was also charged with the improper disposal of animals.

Rest in peace dogs.
