A Jackson man is out on a $6,000 bond after being arraigned Tuesday on an attempted rape charge, according to a news release from the Jackson Police Department.
Jonathan Warmbrod, 19, was arraigned Tuesday morning in Jackson City Court on a charge of attempted statutory rape. The release said. Jackson police arrested Warmbrod on Monday, when he attempted to pick up a minor, at her home, for the purpose of having sex with the girl, police said.
The release said based on the investigation, Warmbrod engaged in sexually explicit communication with the girl over a two-week period. He was fully aware of her age and devised a plan to have sex with the girl and arranged to pick her up at her Jackson home.
Prior to Warmbrod traveling, investigators became aware of his intention, the release said. Around 11 a.m. Monday, police observed Warmbrod on his way to the home. He was pulled over and investigators found evidence in Warmbrod's pants pocket and in his car, which supported his objective. He was transported to the Madison County Jail.
