The clerk’s office said Jackson City Court Judge Blake Anderson ordered Cole’s bond be set at $50,000.
Cole’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 20.
According to a Wednesday afternoon news release from the Jackson Police Department, a Jackson mother called the department on Monday after she discovered that an unidentified man had been sexually involved with her 15-year-old son.
The release said Jackson investigators learned that the boy and Cole had met on the Internet about a year ago. Cole had sent sexually explicit photos of himself to the boy over the Internet.
The investigation also determined that the boy and Cole had sex in the summer of 2013 and in January.
Cole was arrested Wednesday morning and taken to the Madison County Jail, where he remained Thursday night, held on bond.
The release said the case was investigated by JPD's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The ICAC Task Force is part of the JPD's Special Investigations Bureau.
Police ask that anyone with information about adults soliciting minors for sex contact the Special Investigations Bureau at 731-425-8611.
