Summer is here, the weather is fine and there is no shortage of fun and fabulous events happening here in the South Bay! How can we fit it all in??? It’s all about logistics, my friends…and your handy Weekend Guide!

Join Walk With Sally for the White Light White Night Kickoff Party tonight, Thursday, June 26 for a rooftop celebration! Sponsored by Patron Tequila, the Kickoff Party runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on the rooftop of 200 Pier Avenue. The event features a raffle with fantastic prizes including tickets to White Light White Night 2014. Tickets are $20 per person and include food and drinks. Nikau Kai Waterman Shop, Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation and the Downtown Manhattan Business Association have teamed up to present the Summer Surf Movie Series at Metlox Plaza. The first screening will be Sony Pictures Surf’s Up tonight, Thursday, June 26 with the film being projected onto the waterfall fountain – it’s pretty cool. Food will be available for purchase from Manhattan Beach Pizzeria, Bonaventura Gelato and popcorn and beverages from Nikau Kai staffed by the Mira Costa Surf Club. The evening also features music, activities for the kids and a raffle with items donated from downtown businesses and local surf brands. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. with the raffle at 7:15 and the movie at 7:30. A percentage of the proceeds from all vendor booths will go to support the Mira Costa Surf Team. Metlox Plaza is located at 13th Street and Morningside Drive in Manhattan Beach.

The Torrance Cultural Arts Foundation presents That’s Entertainment! Friday, June 27 at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center. The event gets underway at 5:30 p.m. and celebrates twenty years of entertaining the South Bay! The evening features dinner, live and silent auctions, live entertainment and dancing under the stars to Swing Town. Chef Shafer of the Depot Restaurant will be at the helm in the kitchen whipping up what is sure to be a delectable meal. Tickets are $175 per person or $300 per couple. The Redondo Pier Association hosts Movies on the Boardwalk at the Redondo Beach Pier every Friday in June. Tomorrow night, Friday, June 27 is the final screening of the series and features Frozen. These events are free and open to the public and take place between 7 and 10 p.m. Attendees may bring low-back beach chairs. The City of Torrance Community Services Department and local Homeowners Associations are proud to sponsor Movies in the Park. These movie nights will take place at various parks throughout the city this summer. Everyone is welcome and admission is free. Pack up a picnic basket, blanket and lawn chairs and join friends and neighbors for an evening of family-friendly cinematic entertainment as the parks convert into outdoor movies theaters. Each event will feature a different movie beginning at dusk (around 8 p.m.) so bring a jacket, popcorn, cocoa and snacks and join in the fun! El Segundo Museum of Art presents a Movie Night Double Feature on Saturday, June 28. The evening begins at 7 p.m. with a tour of the current Experience 11: SCRATCH, with an ESMoA education Specialist, followed by a screening of Graffiti Verite: Read the Writing on the Wall at 7:30. The second film, Get Up: The Tempt One Story begins at 8:45. A discussion and Q & A session will follow at 9:45. As always, admission is FREE. The Norris Theater for the Performing Arts presents The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley for three performances only on Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29. Everyone’s favorite two-dimensional hero from the beloved children’s book springs to life on stage in this fun-filled musical adventure. The show follows the story of Stanley Lambchop, who wakes one morning to find he is as flat as a pancake, and then becomes the ultimate exchange student, scouring the globe for a solution to his unique problem. Follow Flat Stanley as he’s stamped, posted and cancelled from Hollywood to France to Honolulu as he strives to become a three-dimensional boy once more. Performance times are 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 28 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 29. Tickets are $18 for children ages 12 and under and $25 for adults. The Riviera Village Association presents the 36 Annual Riviera Village Summer Festival on Saturday, June 28 and Sunday, June 29. This very popular yearly event takes place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days and admission is free. There will be over 250 vendor booths featuring arts and crafts, apparel, accessories, commercial, civic and non-profit organization exhibits and much, much more. Local acts and musicians will be performing live on the Community Stage both days so be ready to rock. Feed the Kitty will be kicking off the live entertainment on Saturday from 11:30 - 1:30 PM. The little ones will delight in the carnival rides and games and adults will appreciate the Beer Garden, where they can sit back and take in the ocean view, sea breezes and great music while enjoying a cold one. You don’t want to hassle with parking so leave the car at home and take out the bicycles or use the free shuttle service to and from the event from the South High parking lot. BALEENkitchen will be hosting a Sunday Funday Marina Concert & Cookout on Sunday, June 29. Guests are invited to stop by the BALEENkitchen fire pits and outdoor lounge/dining area overlooking the Redondo Marina from 3 to 6 p.m. The event will feature live music, gourmet burger bar, BBQ and more! The build-your-own-burger bar will offer a choice of beef patty, chicken breast or portobello mushroom grilled to perfection which guests can then customize with an array of garnishes. The burgers are $7 each; domestic beers are $3; well drinks and house wine are $4; and margaritas and The Dudes’s Micro Brewery Draft are $5. Senior Comedy Afternoons presents Red, White, Blue & You on Sunday, June 29 at the Double Tree by Hilton. This show is for anyone looking for an afternoon full of laughs, a delightful lunch and a chance to socialize with friends, neighbors, kids or co-workers. Featured comedians include Cindy Burns, Dave Goodman and Larry Omaha. The event takes place in the Penthouse Ballroom and features a spectacular line-up of comedians, three course lunch and magnificent views. Tickets are $50 per person and go on sale May 15.
