Labor Day Weekend…..three days of BBQs, beach days, balmy nights and Fiesta Hermosa! It’s also the final weekend for all the area concert series and outdoor movies. You have three days to squeeze it all in!

The Redondo Beach Pier Association presents the Summer of Music Concert Series every Thursday and Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. The final concerts of the summer are this weekend, so gather your family, friends and neighbors for a casual, relaxing evening of entertainment the South Bay way. Not sure if this event has sold out yet……Do you have any idea what an enormous difference it makes to drink wine in a varietal specific glass? Tabula Rasa Essentials is hosting a rooftop Riedel Glass Tasting Vitis Series tonight, Thursday, August 28. The event starts at 6 p.m. with the tasting beginning promptly at 6:30. Attendees will receive a four piece Vitis Tasting Set ($180 value), glass and wine education, premium wines, and wine bites provided by Tin Roof Bistro. Featured wineries include Duckhorn, Tamber Bay, Prodigal and Regusci. Paddy of Baccus Wine Made Simple, will be pouring. The cost is $160 per person and seating is limited. The event will take place on the roof of Tabula Rasa, located at 919 A Manhattan Avenue in Downtown Manhattan Beach.

Nikau Kai Waterman Shop, Manhattan Beach Parks and Recreation and the Downtown Manhattan Business Association have teamed up to present the Summer Surf Movie Series at Metlox Plaza. The final screening of the summer will be Disney’s Lilo & Stitch tonight, Thursday, August 28. Food will be available for purchase from Manhattan Beach Pizzeria, Bonaventura Gelato and popcorn and beverages from Nikau Kai staffed by the Mira Costa Surf Club. The evening also features music, activities for the kids and a raffle with items donated from downtown businesses and local surf brands. These family-friendly screenings are free and open to the public. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m. with the raffle at 7:15 and the movie at 7:30. A percentage of the proceeds from all vendor booths will go to support the Mira Costa Surf Team. Metlox Plaza is located at 13th Street and Morningside Drive in Manhattan Beach.

The City of Redondo Beach hosts Summer Family Films under the Stars. Enjoy an evening in the park with family, friends and neighbors. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets and whatever you do, don’t forget the popcorn! The final screening of the summer is this Friday, August 29 featuring All Quiet on the Western Front. Arrive early to claim a prime viewing location. The City of Torrance Community Services Department and local Homeowners Associations are proud to sponsor Movies in the Park. These movie nights take place at various parks throughout the city, everyone is welcome and admission is free. Pack up a picnic basket, blanket and lawn chairs and join friends and neighbors for an evening of family-friendly cinematic entertainment as the parks convert into outdoor movies theaters. This Saturday, August 30 is the final screening of the summer and features the film, Bolt, in Wilson Park located at 2200 Crenshaw Boulevard in Torrance. You’ll want to head to Hermosa Beach for Fiesta Hermosa taking place Saturday, August 30 through Monday, September 1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. With over 270 exhibitors, Fiesta Hermosa is the largest arts & crafts fair in Southern California. An outstanding line-up of bands and musicians will be performing on two separate stages. The main stage, located on the Pier, will feature “tribute bands” playing classic rock. Country & western music and rhythm and blues will be showcased at the Charity Beer and Wine Garden where drinks will be served by local “celebrities”. The Food Court offers something for every taste bud and the Kiddie Carnival and Petting Zoo will surely keep the little ones busy, busy, busy. Getting to Fiesta Hermosa is a breeze with the bike valet program. Hermosa Cyclery will valet your bike for free in a guarded lot on the sand just south of the Pier. The City of Manhattan Beach presents the final Concert in the Park this Sunday, August 31 featuring the classic rock of Dani Kerry from 5 to 7 p.m. These performances are free to the public. There are no dogs, barbecues or wheeled vehicles allowed at any time in the concert area. Umbrellas and pop-up tents may be set up before and after the concert but once the concert begins, you will be required to take them down. You don’t want to miss the last show of the summer! Dance the night away at South Bay Galleria’s Zumba Kids Club with Adventure Plex on Tuesday, September 2 at 6:30 p.m. This free, fun filled class incorporates exercise for all ages where kids will learn the exciting moves of Zumba and dance the night away with their friends. It’s easy for parents to sign their kids up by visiting Kid’s Club at the South Bay Galleria website. This exclusive club provides youngsters with fun and educational entertainment, puppet shows, magicians, special discounts and raffle prizes. Ortega 120 hosts Tequila University on Tuesday, September 2 from 7 to 9 p.m. Named one of the ‘Top 30 Things to Do in LA’ by Where Magazine, the event is hosted by award-winning mixologist and tequila aficionado Demi Stevens. This popular class features a different tequila company every month and students quickly discover that learning has never been so…..tasty. Attendees will receive:

- a brief history of how the featured tequila is produced and its background
- chips, salsa, guacamole
- tacos and churros to be paired with the featured tequila
- a tasting of the featured tequila
