I know you all enjoyed that little taste of summer we experienced earlier this week with temps in the 80s. While I’m well aware of the drought situation and all that entails, I’m really looking forward to a long, hot summer!

Everyone is invited to attend the MixAgogo Launch Party tonight, Thursday, April 10 at R10 Social House in Redondo Marina. MixAgogo is the go-to place for networking in the South Bay! Join the local business community from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. for an evening of doing what they do best – mixing, networking and enjoying a great night of fun. The evening includes drinks and appetizers, live entertainment and a photo souvenir. Vroom, vroom! The Cruise is back! Cruise at the Beach returns to Ruby’s Diner in Redondo Beach on Friday, April 11! Open to the public, this free event happens every Friday night through October and features a gathering of vintage automobiles on display in the Ruby’s Diner parking lot from 4 to 8 p.m. Enthusiasts are encouraged to bring their hot rods, street rods and muscle cars and strut their stuff. A favorite with local car enthusiasts, this popular event has grown tremendously over the years and features vintage and classic cars from all over Southern California. The evening also features music, trivia, trophies and raffle. Ruby’s Diner is located at 245 North Harbor Drive in Redondo Beach. Palos Verdes Art Center presents The Circle 2014 Historic Homes Tour on Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The tour features three historic Palos Verdes Estates homes: an Eclectic Spanish Colonial, an Andalusian Farmhouse and a Restored Spanish Colonial. Attendees can catch the tour shuttle at The Neighborhood Church. The first bus leaves at 9:45 a.m. and the last at 3 p.m. Lunch, included in the ticket price, will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Palos Verdes Art Center. A raffle offers prizes ranging from a stay at Terranea and a limousine trip to the Hollywood Bowl to sports and art packages. Pre-sale tickets are $45 for PVAC members and $50 for non-members. On the event days, tickets are $55 and will be available at PVAC and The Neighborhood Church. The business owners in the Downtown area will be hosting the Spring Sidewalk Sale beginning Friday, April 11 and running through Sunday, April 13. All weekend long, shoppers are encouraged to take advantage of great retail markdowns, pleasant outdoor dining, beautiful weather, convenient parking and glorious ocean views from the sidewalks of beautiful Downtown Manhattan Beach. Businesses will be offering drastic price reductions on quality merchandise ranging from clothing to home furnishings and everything in between. The Village Garden is hosting Garden Treasure, a spring artist’s showing, on Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event features unique works crafted by South Bay artists Robin Broudy Johns, Sharon Wheeler, Martin Eggiman Jr., Joan Salampessy and proprietors Rocky and Sophia Post. If you’ve ever driven along the coast of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, chances are you’ve caught a glimpse of the Point Vicente Lighthouse. Built in 1926, the 67 foot high tower is perched on a cliff offering breathtaking views of the endless Pacific. This is a working lighthouse and its beacon can be seen from twenty miles at sea. The Lighthouse is open to the public on the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and admission is free. While you’re there, be sure to visit the Point Vicente Interpretive Center. After climbing the lighthouse tower and touring the Interpretive Center, stroll along the scenic trail or relax at one of the picnic tables dotting the grounds while taking in vistas of Catalina Island and contemplating the deep blue. PLAY @ ESMoA every Saturday beginning April 12 from 10 to 11 a.m. Start your Saturday with PLAY @ ESMoA, an early childhood program designed for 3 and 4 year olds and their favorite adult companion. PLAY @ ESMoA will introduce the youngest visitor to art through age-appropriate short stories, gallery play activities and an art activity. These workshops last one hour and are led by ESMoA Education Specialists. Admission is free but attendees must pre-register at PLAY @ ESMoA classes are limited to 10 children. One adult chaperone is required for every two children. Siblings of all ages are welcome. Pre-registration is required. Chevron presents Family Fun Day at El Segundo Museum of Art on Sunday, April 13. Meet up with friends or bring the whole family for a day of fun and artistic endeavors. Explore the current exhibit, Experience 09: SILENCE, take part in a family-friendly tour with an ESMoA Educator and create a community map of ‘invisible places’ with the help of artist Rebecca Lowry. Art making materials will be available for a range of ages and ability levels, including adults. As always, admission is FREE!
