Jackie Martling won't be sitting in for Artie Lange

Artie Lange's chair won't be filled by Jackie Martling, even for a day, says Howard Stern.

Howard Stern was asked about the rumors that former Howard Stern Show sidekick Jackie "The Jokeman" Martling might sit in Artie Lange's seat for a few broadcats.

Robin Quivers cut Howard Stern off before he even had a chance to answer: "That's not going to happen."

Howard Stern backed Robin Quiers up: "I don't think it's going to happen. First of all, Robin and Fred are against it."

Howard Stern Show soundman Fred Norris sounded horrified by the mere thought of Jackie Martling perched on Artie Lange's chair.

"It's like dating your ex-wife," said Fred Norris. "Why would you do it?"

Howard Stern stated that many Jackie Martling fans had written in to the show to request that the Jokeman score a guest spot in Artie Lange's absence, but not nearly as many as the Jackie Martling haters who threatened to cancel their Sirius XM subscriptions and hurl their radios at the New York City office building that houses the Howard Stern Show if Martling returned.

Howard Stern stated that the show had received an 'avalanche' of mail against the idea of Jackie Martling rejoining the show, even for a moment.

    Liz,

The best thing we can all do right now as a tribute to Artie is venture into the dark, dangerous corners of downtown and partake in the goodness of hookers.

    ¡Salud!

Let's have the Jackie Puppet fill in for Artie or how about an Artie puppet? What? Too soon? Sorry.
