September 15, 2010 - Tonight on America's Got Talent the night went to duos. Jackie Evancho performed tonight with Sarah Brightman while Prince Poppycock sung with Donna Summers, and Michael Grimm sang with Jewel.
Pairing the finals contestant up with an celebrity entertainer proved to be some good wholesome fun for the audience. It gave the contestants an opportunity to have an experience of a lifetime as well. However, when it came to Jackie Evancho and Sarah Brightman, sadly Jackie blew Sarah away. Her vocals were so strong and forceful leaving such an emotional moment on the audience.
As one person on Twitter.com said, 'I had to get a tissue because it was so beautiful it made me cry.'

What do I think? that you couldn't hear Jackie when she was singing with Sarah. Not sure how that shows she "blew her away."
You maybe just don't like a mature, fully-formed voice.
For the record, the arrangement was also very fast, designed to highlight Jackie's shorter notes in the beginning.

You know...... Some people used to say that Charlotte Church blew Sarah Brightman away, too. But... well.... Sarah Brightman's the one still singing.... interesting.....
Charlotte Church IS still singing. And I adore Sarah Brightman, but I do think that Jackie definitely stole the show.
Charlotte Church has ruined her voice singing at such an early age before her voice matured... which is why Sarah Brightman is still singing...and Charlotte is hardly. Jackie Evancho has the most beautiful voice I get goosebumps everytime I hear her sing :). But Sarah gave her the best advice to SAVE and Preserve her voice so she can keep singing when she is older...unlike Charlotte church.
I don't claim to know anything about opera, but Sarah sounded like she was straining to get the notes out. I much preferred the tone of Jackies voice. I was surprised she didn't win the contest, but she will go on to do great things.
What was with the comment Sarah made after they sang about Jackie waiting to use her voice until later?? No one asked her what she thought about her singing at such a young age.

Jackie is the real winner of AGT because her name is now a household word through out America and beyond. I can't even remember the name of the fellow who won tonight.
I will be watching closely now for Jackie to release her albums, appear on television and in concert.
I can't get enough of her beautiful singing.

Ok, I just reviewed the video, Sarah said she wants her to save and preserve her voice because she's got a long life of singing ahead of her. By save I think she implied, don't use her voice.
There seems to be two schools of thought on toll singing at such a young age takes on the voice. What does anyone who has experience think about this, Im just curious?
The only personal experience I have is watching the stars. There have been some who have had difficulties in life, like Charlotte Church or Judy Garland. Others have had fantastic careers, and seem to have led good lives as well, like Beverly Sills and Julie Andrews, both of whom also started very young and about the same age as Jackie. Julie is obviously still alive and I saw a you tube interview with her and Charlotte Church. Julie said it was work when she was little, but that how could she have regrets because look what it lead to.

Sarah has sung this song thousands of times -- it is one of her signature songs that she has performed with many other talented artists. For her to give her time and talent to sing with this 10-year old phenomenon says a lot about her and she seemed to really enjoy singing with Jackie. Her comments that Jackie preserve and save her voice are warranted because Jackie's voice still needs to mature fully. She will become more famous than any other AGT singer is past years because she is only 10 years old and once her voice matures, she can perform in many different venues. Jackie is extremely talented -- her pitch and tone are near perfect -- the fact that they both hit that final note with such strength says it all. I was in tears watching the performance. Thank you Sarah and Jackie for a memorable performance -- Jackie certainly held her own with the extremely talented Sarah Brightman which says everything!
I think Jackie should have won. How could she not? She's so cute and adorable.
Jackie did not win tonight because she cannot perform in Vegas. She is clearly the most talented act in this show or any of its kind. Never in my life have I witnessed anything like her. Let us all enjoy it because I will not see this again in my lifetime!

Sarah said it all when she publicly stated that Jackie needs to "save her voice"???? ( ie not sing for a while... ) Sarah... sorry, your time is over and you know it. Your voice was way to quivering... not fresh.. We all loved you though we know your voice is aging. But I never disliked you till I saw a parting blow you gave a ten year old girl. Holy moly.. If Sarah was not worried and jealous, she would have said to Jackie her advice in private to save her voice if that was how she felt. That is how a true professional would have done it. Truth is, ....Sarah was straining waaaay more than Jackie. Sad..... Shame on you Sarah for being so petty and unprofessional to a young star ten years old!!!
I have seen Sarah Brightman several times and she's not the same as she used to be. She may have been under the weather but she did not sing in the usual range she does. She even missed a couple notes because her voice was not up to par. I think her closing comment about saving Jackie's voice was more about 'let her be a kid.' Other prodigies were not under the radar on national tv shows followed up with internet sensations. The internet is abuzz right now on an international level after that performance.
I'm glad that Jackie didn't win because no 10 year old kid belongs as a Vegas headliner singling opera or any other song. That's why I knew she wouldn't win. Ozzy got it right.
I don't think Sarah mean Jackie don't use her voice. I think she just mean take good care of it and not to over stress it. Maybe limited use (less concert, less performance) until mature. Certainly Jackie can still sing, just no 100 concert a year for example. I think it is the right concern. She can still make a lot of money from CD singing gospel, theater, and opera over this X'mas with limited promotion. I believe Simon already have plan for her.
I watched this two singing, and by far the best duo performance I've seen in AGT. I had a knot on my throat, and tears on my eyes. And by the way, I am a straight full grown man.
Jackie didn't need to win. She will earn millions of dollars with that beautiful voice. A name to remember because her name will be in bright lights for years to come.
