On June 18 it was announced in an issued press release that Jack White's second solo studio album, "Lazaretto" debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. The album was released on June 10 via Third Man Records/Columbia Records, and during the first week of release it sold 137,732 copies.
According to the same press release White sold over 40,000 copies of the album in vinyl, which is the highest first-week vinyl sales since Soundscan began tracking sales data in 1991. The album sold more copies in its first week than his debut solo album, "Blunderbuss" in 2012.
Other than the U.S. the album "Lazaretto" also debuted at No. 1 in Canada and Denmark. This summer and fall Jack White will be headlining a U.S. tour which begins with his performance at the Forecastle Festival on July 19, and ends with his performance at The Bleacher Theater at Fenway Park in Boston on Sept. 17.
