Modern rock veteran Jack White steps out into the solo spotlight with new album this April.
Almost a year after Jack White announced that The White Stripes were disbanding, he is back with an immensely anticipated new solo album on his label Third Man Records. Titled Blunderbuss, his debut solo effort won't be available until April 24.
However, White has already shared a stream of a song titled "Love Interruption" on his website. In addition to an iTunes download already available, a seven-inch vinyl of the track is available for pre-order, and will be released on February 7.
In a recent interview with BBC Radio One's Zane Lowe, Jack White commented on the decision to create a solo record. "I didn't really even think of recording under my own name for a long time. I always thought, 'I've got the rest of my life to do that.'"
White explained that the choice to introduce "Love Interruption" first was not so much because of its musicality. "I wanted the first taste for people to be a lyrical taste," he said. "I wanted the words to resonate."
