Participating in the July 15 briefing in Philadelphia, Jack Strong of Smart Energy Solutions (SES), a fee-based, not-for-profit subsidiary of ECA, discussed the need for trained contractors.
Interested individuals and companies should read the "Energy Works Information" sheets, fill out the Contractor or Auditor registration form (2 pages), and return them to ECA. These forms are available online. Liz Robinson of ECA expects the program to officially start in September of this year.
The Energy Coordinating Agency in Philadelphia is one of the largest providers of home energy conservation services in Pennsylvania. Recently ECA became the first Building Performance Institute (BPI) Affiliate in the state, and currently conducts BPI and weatherization training.
