Bill McPike has been Jack Herer's attorney for the past 7 years. Although both had been activists since 1972, they didn't become close friends until Jeannie and Jack Herer moved to North Fork, CA.
On Tuesday, August 25, 2009, an exclusive premiere of The Emperor Wears No Clothes DVD was shown in Hollywood. The short documentary was up for Academy Award consideration. Bill and his wife Josephine Antoinette were on the VIP guest list.
Before the premier, Jack pulled Bill aside. "Don't leave after the screening. I need to talk to you. Stay for dinner."
They had dinner at an Italian restaurant. Jack affectionately rustled Josephine Antoinette's hair and hugged her.
Don't let Bill out of your sight. We can't live without our soulmates," he said referring to Jeannie.
After dinner, Josephine Antoinette kept the public away while Bill and Jack had a chance to privately discuss legal matters. The only person who may have overheard the conversation was Chuck Jacobs. A lot of people had been approaching Jack about his new book. They wanted him to sign things. Jack told Bill,
I don’t want to sign anything or do anything unless you look at the legal papers first . I want you to look out for my financial interests.

Jack was in Seattle BEFORE going to Hollywood. As for the DVD in
Hollywood, I had no involvement in that production. There was a
volunteer, Melissa who produced that film. In protecting Jack's interests, I can't go into every detail, but I will mention that somebody incorporated "Jack Herer, Inc." I was able to have that corportion cancelled. Nobody has the right to incorporate or use Jack's name w/out his consent. I never saw Jack in the hospital.
My brother and I saw Jack and Eve at a Chinese restaurant in Clearlake Oaks, California on August 24. Jack told us, right in front of Eve, that he was very happy and looking forward to moving to Santa Rosa with Jeannie as soon as his tour was over.
I have a simple question. I have read reports that Eve Lentz
has said: "Jack wanted to keep us a secret." Now, if Jack
wanted to leave his solemate wife, Jeannie, why would any
alleged new relationship be some secret? Makes no sense to me
or to anybody with a brain. I believe what our friend Linda Lepp wrote too. All I know is what Jack told me in Hollywood, that "Jeannie (his wife) was his solemate." Enough said.
Allison Bigelow The courts have ruled. Why are you still trying to stir up controvercy online. Please please stop the madness! This is a time for Jack to heal not for you to keep spouting your sister's agenda after every article about Jack's recovery. As the reporter herself asked do you want Jeannie to fail? I am praying for you and the others to find peace and finally let this GO!
