More information about Jack Harris’ campaign for County Commissioner

As previously mentioned, Jack Harris is campaigning for Pinellas County Commissioner District Six as a Libertarian Candidate. The incumbent currently representing District Six, John Moronni, has surpassed the legally permitted number of terms allowed for the office.

While the election will not take place until November 2014, Harris has already begun the preparations for his County Commission campaign. At the time of publication, no one else had entered the race for the District Six seat.

Harris’ political background, platform, and qualifications

Jack Harris spent many years volunteering for the Red Cross and the sheriff’s office. He feels personal service is a way to give back to the community. Harris believes holding a local-level political office is the best way he can serve the citizens of Pinellas County.

Because Harris’ background is more business than politics, he can avoid the cronyism associated with individuals which have spent their careers serving as a politician. Harris feels his background enables him to view the problems facing Pinellas County from a fresh perspective, and avoid choosing solutions or coming to conclusions that have failed his constituents repeatedly.

Harris will campaign for Pinellas County Commission District Six as a Libertarian. His commitment to civil liberties, personal freedoms, free trade, and fiscal responsibility should stimulate the Pinellas County economy, which continues to lag behind the remainder of Tampa Bay.
