Jack Black, the star of the upcoming Holiday film Gulliver's Travels, will guest star in the new iCarly TV movie, iStart a Fan War, premiering Friday, November 19, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on Nickelodeon. Miranda Cosgrove stars as Carly in the popular show about a teenager, according to an October 29, 2010 press release from Nickelodeon.
Nickelodeon favorite and two-time Kids’ Choice Awards host Jack Black reunites with his School of Rock co-star Miranda Cosgrove in a new hour-long iCarly television movie, “iStart a Fan War,” premiering Friday, November 19, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT).
Jack Black stars as “Aspartamay,” Spencer’s online video game rival who challenges him to lyrical duel in the Comic-Con-inspired special. In “iStart a Fan War,” Carly and the gang are invited to host a panel at WebiCon, but the session is derailed when they are put on the spot by die-hard fans who demand to know whether Freddie (Nathan Cress) is dating Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) or Sam (Jeanette McCurdy). The “Creddie” and “Seddie” sides break out into an all-out fanboy riot.
Spencer (Jerry Trainor) arrives at WebiCon in a avatar costume, inspired by his favorite medieval-themed online video game. His avatar costume earns the adoration of fellow WebiCon attendee.s However, Spencer’s euphoria is short circuited when his online rival, Aspartamay (Jack Black) arrives at the event. Surrounded by an army of costumed WebiCon devotees, the two competitors launch a fan war like none other featuring their most impressive “wizard powers” and most biting lyrical warfare in the form of an operatic battle opus.
“Jack Black is one of the funniest people I know, and it was wonderful working with him again,” said iCarly star Miranda Cosgrove, in a press release, “He kept the entire cast and crew laughing in between takes with hilarious riffs of the battle song he sings in the episode.”
“I've worked with lots of big stars, and I've never been more blown away than I was with Black,” said Dan Schneider, iCarly creator and executive producer. “His role was very demanding and he worked his butt off and was a pleasure every minute. Jack is hilarious and the consummate professional – if he ever needs a kidney, he can have one of mine.”
The hit Nickelodeon series iCarly stars Miranda Cosgrove as Carly, Jennette McCurdy as Sam, Nathan Kress as Freddie, Jerry Trainor as Spencer and Noah Munck as Gibby. iCarly is created and executive produced by Dan Schneider (Victorious, Zoey 101, Drake & Josh).
“iStart a Fan War,” premieres on Nickelodeon on Friday, November 19, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT).
