Jablonski claims he will walk again; can positive attitude really affect this?

Jack Jablonski, the 16 year-old sophomore, Benilde St. Margaret student, who suffered a severed spinal cord at the neck and fractured two vertebrae after getting checked from behind at a junior varsity game on December 30, 2011, claims “I’m going to walk.”  In an interview for the St. Paul Pioneer Press 1-29-12, Jablonski stated: “I try to stay positive. If you look at the negative side, what are you going to have fun with in life?”  This thinking will not only serve Jack Jablonski well, according to the Mayo Clinic health information, the health benefits of positive thinking include: (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/positive-thinking/SR00009)

Leo Tolstoy said: “Happiness does not depend on outward things, but on the way we see them.”

Many people are not consciously aware of their thoughts, and allow their mind to wander to destructive thought patterns. Each thought is an actual stream of energy consciousness. When we intend our energy strongly, we create a strong energy stream of consciousness. Just like when we pray, we create energy with our thoughts and that goes out into the universe, eventually creating our future and present reality.  The more we create thoughts, the thoughts creating energetic streams, will band together, creating strong energy sent out into the universe.  When we engage in negative thinking, listen to negative words, and travel down imaginary negative scenarios, we draw negativity to our self, limit intuitive guidance, and stagnate in our flow of energy.  Additionally these negative streams of energy band together creating negativity, evil, or discord in our life or world.

It is through making a conscious decision to be aware of our thinking, censuring our negative thoughts or fears, and proactively creating our thoughts, that we proactively create our reality.  Furthermore, this process becomes a higher evolutionary achievement and is fulfilling the possibility and design of our creative origin.  ‘God created us in his image’ is not necessarily just about physical attributes, but rather our ability to create our reality, and form our existence.  We create and form our existence with our thoughts, which become our words, which become our actions, patterns, character, and destiny.

We are creative beings, when we don’t acknowledge this creative attribute of our inherent ability; we tend to live reactively in most situations in life.  Reactive living is living in reaction to whatever arises in our daily life, as opposed to creating our life and our responses.

Jack Jablonski may, despite his horrific accident, walk again.  The effects of positive thinking can produce miracles.  And if he doesn’t, he may just have the positive attitude to live a remarkable despite his physical limitations.
