Working closely with T Post and Music City Films, Jabajaw Staks is a rapper working hard to achieve his dreams of making it big. He is a Nashville hip hop artist you need to know.
Straight outta the Dodge City projects in the ‘Ville’s hardcore North side, Jabajaw Staks delivers hard beats with simple messages to his audience. But there’s the other side to Jabajaw, and the artist certainly proves his versatility on feel good tracks and club-like beats. When I first listened to his music I was taken back to 1998 and my ‘Make ‘umm Say Uhh’ and Master P days, although Staks’ music offers that southern flow that all of us in Nashville can appreciate.
Get to Know Jabajaw Staks
Staks spends much of his free time in the studio, and with bumpin’ track after track being produced, hip hop fans can certainly thank him for this devotion to music and putting it out there for us to enjoy. Give him a chance and I guarantee he has a song that you will like to play over and over again.
Jabajaw has been doin’ his thang in the studio for 8 years now, although in a city that is known as county music capital of the world, making a name for yourself when you are in the hip hop genre isn’t exactly easy. Despite the obstacles standing in his way, Jabajaw continues to make his way to the studio and flow with us regularly.
In June 2013, Staks released a mix tape titled ‘Runnin Wit my City.’ This mix tape features the song ‘7 Days a Week’ . This song has a hard beat that defines what we do every day in the struggle. If you’ve ever been a part of this there is no explanation needed, and the song is sure to hit home while filling your ears with sounds of pleasure.
This disc has a number of other tracks as well.
A Cold Day in Hell
A Cold Day in Hell is the second mix tape release Jabajaw has planned for the ‘Ville. An exact release date for this disc is still unknown. Several songs have been leaked from the mix tape, including one that I think I will be bangin’ for some time.
The song that I am really feeling is titled ‘No Legs,’ a joint he did with T Post. Although this is a little bit behind my generation, it has a banging beat could easily entertain the dance floor at the club. It’s one of those grown and sexy joints, with a beat that goes hard and fun lyrics that set the mood for a fun night. Instantly after hearing it I said ‘I like this song,’ so I’m definitely givin’ this one mad props.
‘Ketchup & Mustard’ is another of the latest brought to you by Jabajaw. Don’t let the name of this song fool you. It’s another banger that will put that bump in that trunk. Don’t forget your ketchup and mustard!
The ‘9 to 5’ video has just been released. This is another favorite, and reminds me of a song from his first mix tape, ‘ 7 Days a Week.’ This beat is faster and the message is different, however it is still the same – the struggle is real and you can relate to this song.
Jabajaw Staks along with T Post & Music City Films have several videos that can be viewed on YouTube.
