When I think of Valentine’s Day, I think of a romantic evening that includes a glass of sparkling wine. Over the last several months I have sample quite a few sparkling wines and many qualify to enhance a romantic evening. One such sparkler is the J Vineyards & Winery Brut Rosé.
It is not just the sparkling wine that creates the image for a perfect Valentine’s Day but its sexy yet simple bottle adorned with the black J symbolizing the branding of J Vineyards.
This sparkling wine has a beautiful pink orange color that to me signifies Rosé. The flavor bursts in your mouth with each sip. It emits a wonderful bouquet of stone fruit and watermelon with a hint of spice on the finish. The small bubbles expand into the spicy almost allspice finish.
J Vineyards Brut Rosé is made up of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier by winemaker Melissa Stackhouse. The alcohol is 12.5%. The grapes are hand harvested as whole clusters in the early morning. The clusters go through a gentle pressing in the Coquard press. Following secondary fermentation, the wine ages for about two years in the bottle. A dosage of the reserve wines and pure cane sugar is added and the wine continues aging another six months before it is release.
The J Vineyards Brut Rosé is the perfect sparkling wine to share with your lover on Valentine’s Day.
J Vineyard & Winery began operation in 1986 by Judy Jordan. In fact they are most known for their sparkling wines, which the winery has been creating since its inception. Since the beginning the winery has used sustainable green practices that were almost unheard of in the 1980s but are at the forefront of all J Vineyard’s wines.
Wines from J Vineyards &Winery can be purchased at BevMo and Whole Foods. For those of you in Los Angeles, the Wine House also carries these wines.
