Well, according to author J.K. Rowling, she admits now that Harry and Hermione should have gotten married. In an interview with Emma Watson in Wonderland magazine, Rowling says Hermione should have married Harry Potter, not Ron, upsetting millions of Harry Potter.
Rowling admits she let the relationship flower for personal reasons, but thinks now it was a literary mistake. I wrote the Hermione and Ron relationship as a form of wish fulfillment. That’s how it was conceived, really. For reasons that have very little to do with literature, and far more to do with me clinging to the plot as I first imagined it, Hermione ended up with Ron.
I know, I’m sorry. I can hear the rage and fury it might cause some fans, but if I’m absolutely honest, distance has given me perspective on that. It was a choice I made for very personal reasons, not for reasons of credibility. Am I breaking people’s hearts by saying this? I hope not.
Well, Rowling has just upset millions of fans' lives. Although, many people always did wonder why she paired up Ron and Hermione and Harry with Ginny. Now Rowling says she thinks Ron and Hermione would have needed marriage counseling in order to make their marriage work. Others seem to think that Hermione would someday tire of Ron and leave him for Harry, who was always a much better match for her power, passion, and intelligence. Rowling says, "I think there are fans out there who know that too, and who wonder whether Ron would have really been able to make her happy.” Some fans wonder how Harry wound up with Ginny because they say there was no passion in their relationship. J.K. Rowling also said that at one time she considered killing off Ron in the series but decided against it. Either way this continues the interest in Harry Potter series.
Do you agree that Rowling should have paired off Hermione and Harry instead of Hermione and Ron?
