J. K. Rowling on 'Oprah' Oct. 1st - Harry Potter fans, too -- Harry Potter author, J. K. Rowling is scheduled to appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show next Friday, October 1, 2010.

The show will air from Scotland, reportedly at Ms. Rowling's home, and the two women will talk about Ms. Rowling's success with the Harry Potter series.

The Oprah Winfrey Show is now in its 25th and farewell season.  Previously, the show asked for guests who are "fans of Harry Potter" to contact them.  Here is the original message from the Oprah Show website that was re-posted on the Potter fansite, Mugglenet (note that the time has passed for any new fans to contact the show):

"What life lessons has the Harry Potter series taught you? Did reading about the death of Harry's parents helped you cope with loss in your own life? Have the books helped you escape from a difficult time in your own life? If you could ask J.K. Rowling a question, what would it be?"

The message continued:

"Tell us how J.K. Rowling and the Harry Potter series has inspired you or your family. Please only write if you are a muggle and willing to appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show."

No doubt, the appearance is also scheduled to tie in with promotion for the upcoming film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1. The movie, starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint is due in theaters November 19, 2010.

J. K. Rowling gave a hint at the White House Easter Egg Roll this spring that she is working  on another book that readers may see soon.
