The magical world of Harry Potter will soon be returning to the big screen. On Thursday, September 12 Wetpaint Entertainment reported that author J.K. Rowling is working on a screenplay for the book "Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them," which is a companion book to the "Harry Potter" series. The book is based on a textbook Harry and the other students at Hogwarts needed to learn about magical creatures.
The book is less than fifty pages long, but features creatures not mentioned in the films or books and does into a lot more detail about magical creatures. Rowling has previously stated that she would not continue writing books in the Potter series unless she had a good idea, but Warner Bros. wanted to make this book which was already released into a screenplay. The author couldn't imagine someone else writing about the characters that are so close to her, so she is completing the screenplay herself.
The book is available on Amazon and with other book sellers across the globe. The book is a must for any Harry Potter fan as it features creatures mentioned in the books and movies as well as creatures that fans have not been introduced to. The screenplay will take place over seventy years before the beginning of the Potter series, but the film will not be a prequel. The book is written from the point of view of Newt Scamander, who lived before the original series.
