And now for today's feel good story.
J.J. Watt posted a picture of a young Texans fan on his Twitter account last night. The young man, pictured at the left, is obviously a big Watt fan.
Watt put out an all points bulletin: "This little guy is awesome. If you know him, let me know so I can send him some gear!"
Thanks to the power of the internet and a bunch of helpful Texans fans it didn't take long for Watt to track down his young fan whose name is Camden.
Watt posted an update on his Twitter account earlier this afternoon:
How cool is that? Talk about making a kid's day.
And it's just one more reason to like #99 aka 'MegaWatt.'
Yeah, since I went there, if you're going to give #99 a nickname, at least give him one with a bit of an edge - to match his playing style.
'The Milkman' (because he always delivers) sounds too much like 1960's humor or something out of Leave it to Beaver.
At any rate, thanks to J.J. for reaching out to this young Texans fan and enjoy your gear, Camden.
This is a great example of how fan bases can grow at the grass roots level out of one simple yet generous gesture by a player.
