New J.J. Redick trade rumors have surfaced following a positive injury update. Redick has no structural damage in his right shoulder, revealing that he should be able to get back on the court right away. According to a report from late Wednesday (Feb. 6), Redick had an MRI done on his shoulder after experiencing a lot of soreness. It came back clean, though, shortening the length of time he will miss due to this injury.
While speaking about the injury, Redick stated that it was, "A huge relief. There was some worry. I want to play. I don't want to be out long. At this point, it's basically just soft tissue. It's whatever I can handle. I tried shooting some before shootaround [Wednesday], and there's too much pain right now to play." This should also be a huge relief for fantasy basketball owners who may have been worried he could be out for a while with this shoulder problem.
Now Orlando can showcase Redick some more as the Feb. 21 trade deadline approaches, because it seems like he could be a very valuable trade chip to other teams. Redick has stated before that he wants to remain in Orlando, but with his pending unrestricted free agency, the team may not want to risk losing him on the open market.
As one of the better shooters in the NBA, expect the J.J. Redick trade rumors to really heat up as other teams start to feel the pressure to make a move. That could make this situation very beneficial for the Orlando Magic.
