J.J. Abrams set to direct Star Wars: Episode VII

TheWrap is reporting that J.J. Abrams, director of 'Star Trek: Into Darkness' and 'Super 8', will take the reigns of the next installment of the Star Wars saga, Episode VII. Abrams was in contention with 'Argo' director Ben Affleck, according to sources whom spoke with TheWrap.

The new film will be the first for the Star Wars franchise under the Walt Disney Films banner, with the mouse house acquiring the property from LucasFilm for $4.05 billion in October of 2012.

Fans have been rabid for information regarding the new films and where Disney would move with the property and now with Abrams on board and Michael Arndt penning the script, the pieces are starting to fall into place.
