Mystery writer J.D. Robb will join with her romantic counterpart Nora Roberts on November 2, 2010 in releasing two new titles. Robb’s In Death series publication, Indulgence in Death, is due out on this date, as is Roberts’ Happy Every After, the concluding volume in her Bride Quartet.
An excerpt from on Indulgence in Death on Nora Roberts’ website reveals that a visit to Ireland with her husband, Roarke, temporarily distracts New York Police and Security Department Detective Eve Dallas from big city crime. However, on her return, she becomes immediately involved in a serial murder case in which the victims are all killed with unusual weapons.
Chauffeur Jamal Houston gets shot in the neck with an antique crossbow while his limousine is parked at La Guardia airport. High-priced escort Ava Crampton is stabbed in the heart with a bayonet at Coney Island's House of Horrors. A harpoon ends the life of chef Luc Delaflote, and a bullwhip chokes event planner Adrianne Jonas.
Eve soon learns that the perpetrator of these crimes has stolen the identities of several wealthy business executives in order to hide his own. She also discovers that he has acquired a taste for luxuries, a fact that moves her investigation into the opulent business world that surrounds her own billionaire husband.
Indulgence in Death is the second In Death series book published this year, following Fantasy in Death (February 2010). Roberts will release one additional title in the In Death series on November 30, 2010. Her novella, "Possession in Death," will appear in the anthology The Other Side. The next full-length In Death work, Treachery in Death, will be published on February 22, 2011.
Roberts will sign copies of both Indulgence in Death and Happy Ever After at the Turn the Page Bookstore’s Fall book signing. This event is scheduled for November 6, 2010.
