On Friday, the Fayetteville Observer reported that, Fayetteville native and Grammy nominated rapper J. Cole’s The Dreamville Foundation will host its first annual Back to School Supply Giveaway on Saturday, August 24. The giveaway will be at E.E. Smith High School in Fayetteville, NC, J. Cole’s home town beginning at 10 am.
All students are encouraged to attend to get the supplies they need in preparation for their return to school. Students must be accompanied by an adult and they must also have their school supply list in order to be admitted into the event.
J. Cole started The Dreamville Foundation in 2011, with a mission per their website
to reveal to the urban youth, their limitless potential, through positive life-altering experiences.
Since its introduction, The Dreamville Foundation has hosted a range of positive events with an aim to help urban youth realize their potential from writing contests and camps to aligning with local organizations such as the Fayetteville Urban Ministry.
As J. Cole continues to give back to his community, he also continues to make strides within the music industry. His sophomore album, “Born Sinner” was released in June which he is currently promoting while on tour with Wale. “Born Sinner” follows J. Cole’s debut album, “Cole World: The Sideline Story,” which resulted in a Grammy nomination and 10 music nominations from BET.
