J.C. Penney store closings will hit 33 of its stores and have an effect on 2,000 jobs according to an announcement by the retailer on Wednesday. The move is an effort for J.C. Penney to curtail financial losses, according to a CNN report on Wednesday.

The report says that the 33 store closings will be completed by the beginning of May of this year. The measure is projected to save J.C. Penney $65 million annually.

Mike Ullman, the CEO of J.C.
