J.B. Handley is a deranged psycho (I have proof)

It seems that the anti-vaxxers over at Age of Autism have decided to give up the artifice of appearing sane. In his latest blog post, Generation Rescue's head honcho J.B. Handley himself has written something so far away from anything that can remotely be called sane that it almost defies comprehension.

In retaliation, no doubt,  for the epic smack down Left Brain Right Brain blogger "Sullivan" has laid down on Handley's friends Mark Blaxill and Dan Olmsted's flop of a book, Age of Autism (part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, statement of purpose, and part 6), Handley has decided to out Sullivan's true identity...you know, even though he has no idea who Sullivan really is. But of course at the Age of Autism blog, they never let truth get in a way of a good baseless speculation in order to attack their critics.

I guess this isn't entirely surprising given the anti-vaxxer policy of trying to out their anonymous critics and fling potentially libelous accusations against their critics in lieu of ever addressing the actual charges being made or the discussing the actual science.

So who has Handley fingered as the true identity of the mysterious 'Sullivan'? None other than Bonnie Offit, wife of the anti-vaxxers' white whale Paul Offit and respected pediatrician in her own right.

To justify this claim, Handley--well, he doesn't really provide any real evidence. He just says he read somewhere that Bonnie Offit reads internet blogs related to anti-vaxxers and never actually sees comments made anywhere under her name. Ergo, she MUST be the secret identity behind one of the anti-vaxxers' strongest science blogger critics!

The press has been very clear because Bonnie Offit has told them: she takes the time to watch the blogosphere, monitoring the pulse of those against her husband. Yet, for all the time Ms. Offit reportedly spends on the web, I can't find a single comment or post in her name. Unless of course she calls herself "Sullivan," and then everything makes perfect sense.

Yup, what other possible conclusion could one possibly make? Well, I guess that J.B. Handley is a raving psychotic.

But at least he knows that:

Let me be clear: I have circumstantial evidence that points to Bonnie Offit being Sullivan. I will spell out what I have, and let you be the judge.

He doesn't. Follow the link above and see for yourself. Instead he comes up with seven imaginary pieces of "evidence:"

Evidence #1: Sullivan brings up and protects Offit at every turn

Evidence #2: Sullivan is in communication with Paul Offit, with great insight

Evidence #3: Sullivan has spent considerable time clarifying how much money Paul Offit made from the Rotavirus vaccine, with remarkable insight and detail.

Evidence #4: When Barbara Loe Fisher sued Paul Offit, Sullivan didn’t even mention the case until the suit had been dismissed, despite the fact that Orac (a blogger who Sullivan cites frequently) had discussed the case 3 months prior.

Evidence #5: Sullivan knows what’s in Paul Offit’s new book, Deadly Choices, even though it hasn’t been released yet
...
Evidence #6: If it has to do with Offit, Sullivan will defend the most arcane of topics (especially the Rotavirus vaccine)

Evidence #7: Sullivan is obsessed with the same topics that obsess Paul Offit

So let's take a little look at Handley's Seven Points for a moment. Bonnie Offit must be the true identity of Sullivan because (1) Sullivan constantly defends Paul Offit, the most visible critic of the anti-vaxxer movement from the bogus accusations leveled against him by the anti-vax movement, (2) is in regular communication with Offit and well informed about the real facts concerning him that anti-vaxxers perpetually distort, (3) spends about as much time correcting one of the most pernicious myths perpetuated against Offit by the anti-vaxxer community as Sullivan sees the anti-vaxxers spend perpetuating it in the first place..."with remarkable insight and detail" (almost as if Sullivan were in regular contact with Offit. Oh wait! That's right. That was #2 on the list), (4) chose to show some restraint and not discuss a legal dispute until the case had concluded (Help! Police! This guy's too rational and unwilling to blindly speculate on things until all the facts are in!), (5) knew at least some of the content of Offit's next book before it was released (almost as if Sullivan were in regular contact with Offit. Oh wait! That's right. That was #2 on the list), (6) constantly corrects the bogus accusations leveled against the most visible critic of the anti-vaxxer community as they continue to perpetuate the same pernicious myths no matter how many times it is corrected (Wait! Isn't this just a repeat of #1 and #3 on the list!), (7) and is obsessed with the same topic as Offit...and Handley himself except that Sullivan actually cares about presenting accurate information rather than bald-faced lies.

Wait! Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Sullivan's obsessed with the vaccine safety issue and Handley's obsessed with the vaccine safety issue. And we've never seen them together ever!

HOLY CRAP!

Handley and Sullivan are the same person!

Author’s Note: I emailed Sullivan to ask him/her to respond to this story and/or call me on my cell. I have not heard back.

Well if that doesn't convince you that Sullivan is really Bonnie Offit, then I guess nothing will!

I'm not sure but this one may come close to the infamous Thanksgiving baby-eating image Age of Autism made in terms of unfathomable sickening behavior.
