Ivanka Trump was “within a stone’s throw” of a persistent stalker at the Doral WGC-Cadillac Championship. John Eugene Enabnit, 32, is a homeless man who is under a restraining order to stay away from the 31-year-old heiress. According to a March 15 Golf Channel article, Enabnit got into the golf tournament on Saturday. He gained entry with a fake press pass and spoke openly about his desire to speak with the heiress.
Officials caught Enabnit loitering around a restricted area VIP tent near the 18th hole when they asked for his pass and discovered a forgery. The officials ejected him but did not realize they had already barred him from the property. On Monday, authorities tracked Enabnit to a Best Western motel and took him into custody. He remains in jail in Miami until New York authorities determine whether he will face felony criminal contempt charges for violating the restraining order.
Police arrested Enabnit in February for stalking and harassment after attending the younger Trump's perfume launch in New York. The order of protection came after he allegedly showed up in the lobby of her ritzy high-rise home and came back seven times in five days. He kept demanding to see her.
Trump's father bought the Doral resort last year, so she was a regular fixture at the event where Tiger Woods had a very exciting win.
