Authorities say Ivan Mejia was a North Texas teen who was brutally murdered by his friends and classmates over a girl. The murder occurred in Wylie, TX, in March 2014. Police happened upon the two killers as they tried to bury the body in a field. The two teens are currently being held at the Collin County Juvenile Detention Facility. Police have not released an official motive in the case but a love triangle angle is likely.

Monday, March 3

One of the teens is angry that Ivan Mejia is dating the same girl that he is dating.

The two teens devise a plan to get rid of Ivan Mejia.

Saturday, March 8

Ivan Mejia is lured to a desolate area behind the school. That's when police say the teens grabbed Mejia, put him in a headlock and gagged him with a sock.

They then take the teen, throw him in the back of a car and head to Garland.

Police receive a 911 call about an abandoned car in Garland. When they arrive, they see two boys headed into the field.

A Garland police officer asks what the teens are doing. They tell the officers they are trying to bury a body.

Police find the dead body of Ivan Mejia in a creek. The boys also tell police that they had originally killed Mejia behind the school and transported the body to the Garland location.

According to Joangel Concepcion ‏@JOANGELFOX4, the judge has "ordered both teen suspects to be held for another 10 days because of the violent nature of the crime."

The teens names are being withheld because they are minors. They are currently being held in the Collin County Juvenile Detention Center, according to CNN.
