Its flu season again, to immunize or not to immunize

Fact- The flu shot does not protect you from the flu.

If you are thinking about that it is flu season again and you want to make your immune system stronger but do not want to get the flu shot what can you do? There are many natural things that you can do that have over time proven effective against the flu. One of those things is you can start now drinking Echinacea tea and continue to do so through the flu season until it begins to warm again. Echinacea tea has been shown to increase the strength of the human immune system by 10 fold with continued use.

Echinacea tea is cheap and can be bought at most all grocery stores, herb shops, natural food stores as well as on the internet. Drinking just three cups a day through flu season can keep you from getting the flu. Washing your hands more and using good hand sanitizer will slow the spread of the flu virus as well. It is a good practice during flu season to carry a small bottle of hand sanitizer in your pocket when you are out in public. And it is good practice to wash your hands every time you think about it.

Many people do not know this but if you increase your intake of garlic, onion, vitamin C, and spices you can increase your immune system and this will make you less susceptible to the flu as well. Another old trick to use for the natural health buff is to make it a habit to get up in the morning and drink a hot beverage before you drink anything else. Hot beverages, preferably an herb tea will wash any lingering virus from your mouth and throat to your stomach.

Once in the stomach the virus has no chance of survival. In fact drinking hot beverages all the time will keep any virus from latching onto you through your mouth and throat. Another great technique is to have on hand some pure garlic oil capsules and a bottle of GSE or Grapefruit Seed Extract. Then when you start feeling a little under the weather, instead of allowing the flu to come on you head it off at the pass by taking the garlic oil and or the GSE. Take the capsules or the GSE drops in a tea till symptoms die.

Eating more garlic and onion and spice in your diet in the winter will make your immune system stronger as garlic and onion is a natural antibiotic, probiotic and spices help rid the body of free radicals that can make you ill. September seems to be a good month to prepare for winter as most places will start experiencing winter conditions in October. So September is a great time to detox for the last time till right after winter and cold and flu season.

Using a good detox tea and taking milk thistle capsules daily for about 3-4 weeks will clean your system up of anything that might be suppressing you’re immune system. As for the flu shot, there have been in recent past, so many ill effects associated with the flu shot that any natural health advisor would never suggest it. There are more people that do not get the shot every year and never get ill than there are those that take the shot and fair well from it. More and more people are refusing to get the dangerous flu shot every year and turning to natural methods as well as uncovering false information such as, “More people are sick in the winter than summer because of the cold weather.” Truth is more people spend more time indoors incubating viruses in their bodies because it is too cold for them outdoors.

Then when they venture outside and into public they spread that virus making others ill. It’s a good idea NOT to hunker down in the winter, but to remain active outdoors so that viruses do not have a place to grow and incubate into stronger diseases. And make sure you are getting enough rest, more so in colder weather because rest also increases the immune system. Above all eat more fruits and vegetables and hot meals such as soups over cold meat sandwiches to avoid the flu.
