Film festivals are enthusiastically enjoyed throughout the world all year long by those that have a taste for art and culture. Although the Cannes Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival and Tribeca Film Festival are some of the most talked about film festivals in the industry, the Taormina Film Festival stands in a class of its own.

On June 14, 2013, international celebrities walked the Red Carpet for the inauguration ceremony of the 60th edition of the Taormina Film Festival. Adding to the elegance was Maserati with their magnificent vehicles and the main sponsor of this unprecedented event. Not only was this a Red Carpet event, but it is the beginning of a harmonious partnership between the 100-year-old Maserati and the 60-year-old Taormina Film Festival in a story tale setting.

This edition of the film festival pays special homage to women and seen arriving in Maserati Quattroportes were striking actresses Bo Derek, Melanie Griffith, Eva Longoria, Carmen Maura and Paz Vega. The Sicilian film festival also attracts such great actors as Ben Stiller and Matt Damon amongst other big names.

The film opening the Taormina Film Festival in a picturesque Greek Theatre was 'Dragon Trainer 2' in 3D. Present in the audience as is sometimes customary was the film's director and screenwriter, Dean DeBlois. This Dreamworks Production is the follow-up film to 'Dragon Trainer', nominated for the Oscar for Best Animated Feature making $500 million at the box office. Twentieth Century Fox will distribute this second chapter in the trilogy. After the film was previewed on this very exciting evening, it was time to treat this audience to the gripping opening match of the Italian team at the FIFA World Cup Tournament.

For the next eight days, some of the most emotional, thought-provoking and fascinating films will make their debut at the Taormina Film Festival. It all takes place from June 14 - June 21, 2014. The central activity center for meetings, interviews and cocktail parties is the most iconic Hotel Timeo. To top it all off, Maserati will provide the exclusive courtesy car service to escort the awaited international stars as they walk the Red Carpet with this elegant vehicle close by all the while.
