Italian Wine Master class starts this Sunday

The world of wine is fascinating and fun to learn about. While there a plenty of classes around, most focus on appreciation where the basics of aroma and taste are explained. Food and wine pairing are usually explained and do make dinnertime more interesting and pleasurable. And while the basics are the best starting point, more in depth knowledge can boost your confidence while shopping for wines and looking at restaurant ‘s wine lists.
Italy has probably the most native grapes and regions that can easily confuse even wine professionals. There are plenty of books that can teach you about Italian wines, but here in South Florida there is another option Just Quality Importer based here in Miami and brings in great wines from all over Italy is hosting an Italian Wine Specialist course. The teacher for this course is Diego Meraviglia. Diego, born and raised in the wine rich region of Piemonte, Italy, is the Vice President and Director of Education for the North American Sommelier Association. In 2013 he placed 5th at the Worldwide Sommelier Association “Best Sommelier In the World” competition, this ensures you will be taught by one of the world’s top sommeliers.
The course covers all 20 Italian wine regions. It explores native grapes, grape characteristics as well as Italian wine laws and regulations. At the end of the course there will be a final exam and all passing students will receive an Italian Wine Specialist certificate. The course has 22 hours of classes held over four days and will include tasting of 30 wines. The course begins on March 30 through April 2 at Big Fish Restaurant, 620 NE 78 St., Miami.
