Aniello Musilla, who as director of ICE - Italian Trade Commision was an enthusiastic proponent of Italian wines in America, was feted last night at the Italian Consulate in Manhattan. Doctor Musilla was being honored on the occasion of the conclusion of his post in the States. He will return to the Italian Trade Commission headquarters in Rome to assume his new position as Director of the Office of Industrial & Institutional Planning. Doctor Musilla was a familiar face at wine events in New York City. Vino Italian Wine Week was among many successful wine promotions during his tenure.
The farewell party was full of friends and colleagues giving warm wishes. The evening was highlighted by a ceremony bestowing the honor of Onorificenza di Cavaliere dell’Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana in recognition of Doctor Musella’s contributions and service to the Republic of Italy as a civil servant.
Fittingly, a host of Italian wines, including the sparkling wine of Veneto, Prosecco, were poured to toast Doctor Musella as he begins a new phase in his careeer.
