Opened in 1994, owners Mike Frank, Bill Whitely, and Mark Johnson brought their years of restaurant experience to create a place where people can dine on homemade Italian cuisine made fresh daily. Several of their homemade recipes come from “The Hill” district in St. Louis, MO, where they actually bought the rights to their signature cheese which adorns many of their delicious recipes. Head chef Steve Nagle,who was culinary trained in New York, along with Saute chef Peter Davis, collaborate on many of the dishes to make your dining experience one of the best. The team has been working together for over 16 years and that experience makes the difference when serving mouthwatering entrees that will grace your palate.
You can pair your entrée with their most popular Chianti table wine that is served in carafes that are hand painted by “Paint Yourself Silly” right here in Lincoln. They charge by the glass, or by the carafe, on the honor system. In addition they have a full service cocktail menu that will satisfy any beverage preference.
The dining room is very unique. It is warm and inviting. The walls are covered with actual pictures of the owners’ families and friends. Mostly in black and white, the large photos of earlier generations dining, getting married in Italy, or shopping at their local grocery store back in their day, makes you feel like you are a part of their history also.
Mark Johnson, who is also the manager, prides himself on making this dining experience one of your best. The staff is like family to him, and he helps them learn the importance of outstanding customer service. He, like his staff, look forward to coming to work every day.
