Thousands of people enjoyed this weekend the 2010 Festival of Books presented by the L.A. Times in association with UCLA. No one could have asked for better weather as one of the greatest literary events in the country hosted celebrated authors, storytelling, music, dance, and on-stage demonstrations.
Experience makes perfect, and so the Festival of Books, now in its 15th year, ran like a well-oiled machine providing a free-of-charge experience that began for most with a shuttle service that hauled people to and fro, without missing a beat, from 10 am on Saturday to 5 pm on Sunday.
At the UCLA campus the variety of literature left no one neglected - children had a magnificent section just for them, and adults had hundreds of options to choose from. Forget lifelong animosities - even USC had its own booth!
Along with the many walking through the aisles were those advertising for similar upcoming events, such as the Anatolian Cultures Food Festival coming to the OC Great Park in Irvine on May 6-9 and the 13th Annual Los Angeles Latino Book and Family Festival to be held at the CSULA campus October 9 and 10.
