Looking to get really soaked and wet? If you plan to visit Islands of Adventure at the Universal Orlando Resort, you have multiple options to get not only wet, but also soaked from head to toe! In fact, two of the wettest rides to ever exist in all of Orlando are located in the theme park. Both of them are based upon classic cartoons, are whimsically and colorfully designed, great for the whole family, and perfect for a day in the intense Florida heat. They are Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls and Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges.
Dudley Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls is a variation of the classic log ride, somewhat akin to Splash Mountain located in Disney’s Magic Kingdom. You enter a log and journey into the magical and far away land of Canada. During the ride the infamous hero and Royal Canadian Mountie known only as Dudley Do-Right attempts to rescue the fair Nell Fenwick, who has been trapped in a saw mill thanks to the evil Snidely Whiplash. This ride is almost impossible not to get wet on, which includes a 75-foot drop. It’s also almost impossible not to laugh and smile at the adventure and the antics of the heroes.
Nearby is Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges, another ride to get extremely wet on. This time on a raft, in a similar plot as the above mentioned ride Popeye the Sailor Man attempts to rescue Olive from the villainous Bluto. It’s virtually impossible not to get wet on this ride, especially as you go through an actual barge wash. As if that wasn’t wet enough for you, park visitors not on the ride can act mischievously and fire water cannons from a nearby ship at the riders. So if you’re on a family reunion that’s getting tense in the park you can take out your anger at say, your sibling or mother-in-law, by firing water cannons at them as they ride.
So if you’re looking for a ride to both get soaked and feel nostalgic for classic cartoons on, then head over to Islands of Adventure and check out Dudley’s Do-Right’s Ripsaw Falls and Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges. Both of these rides are popular attractions, so it’s wise to obtain a Universal Express Pass for them. And be sure to enjoy it with some friends and family to share both the experience and the wetness.
