Allison Ives scored the game winning goal 1:23 into overtime to lead the Chisago Lakes Wildcats to a 4-3 win over the St. Louis Park Orioles Saturday afternoon at The Rec Center.
The Orioles took the early lead on Molly Arntson's goal from the left point. The Wildcats knotted the game at one when Jade Wilson scored on a rebound. St. Louis Park regained the lead on Arntson's second goal, scoring from the left side.
Amy Budde was no buddy to the Orioles in the second period as she scored a pair of goals to put the Wildcats back in front. Her first goal bounced off of St. Louis Park goalie Peyton Stafne's left pad and into the net. Eight seconds later, she scored again in almost the exact same manner.
The Orioles tied the game in the third period when Sophia Noreen got a pass from Megan Berens and it bounced into the net. Neither team regained the lead so it was on to overtime.
Overtime didn't take long as Allison Ives socred the game winner from the left slot 1:23 into the period to give Chisago Lakes the win.
The wildcats improves their record to 4-13-1 and host the Irondale Knights in a 7 PM game Jan.8 at the Chisago Lakes Arena. The Orioles fell to 2-13-1 and travels to Minnehaha Academy to take on the Redhawks Mon. Jan.7 at 5:15.
