Mega Convention, called “MegaCon” for short, is an enormous multi-genre convention that caters to the sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, anime and comic book communities.

This year the fantasy fun-fest will occur on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, March 21, 22, and 23rd.

Appropriately named “Mega” this convention is a huge event that routinely attracts big-name stars.

This year’s mega-celebrity is Stan Lee, the comic book legend who created Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, the X-Men, the Hulk, and the Fantastic Four.

Pose for photos with your favorite celebrity!

Some of the celebrities that will be signing autographs and posing for photos with fans include Eliza Dushku of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dollhouse, and Torchwood; Eve Myles of Torchwood and Dr. Who; and Emily Kinney of The Walking Dead. Dirk Benedict (Starbuck) and Richard Hatch (Apollo) from the original Battlestar Galactica TV series will also be there to meet fans.

Wil Wheaton will be there. Wheaton came to fame playing Wesley Crusher on the Star Trek: The Next Generation, but more recently Wheaton has become a frequent guest on The Big Bang Theory where he usually causes Sheldon a lot of pain and aggravation.

Fans of all ages dress up. It’s not uncommon to see entire families wearing costumes, so this is a great venue for mom and dad to get silly alongside their kids. There will be costume contests with prizes awarded.

Megacon is more than just a comic book convention. There are tons of Hollywood movie memorabilia such as posters and props, steampunk costumes, medieval weaponry, plus loads gadgets to gawk at, and purchase, of course. Dungeons & Dragons game modules, books and figurines, LEGOLAND, ninja swords, and original fantasy artwork are always well represented.

Megacon truly lives up to its name as being a “Mega” Convention with something for everyone.

Tickets are $30 at the door, $25 online advance purchase.
