2004 was an important year for Patrycja Siewert-Towns. That year marked the beginning of the Alive! Wellness Expo in Atlanta. The unique gathering became a yearly meeting place for people interested in a healthy, green, and ecological lifestyle. Today, the event is approaching its tenth convention, and the air is abuzz with anticipation.
What is the Alive! Wellness Expo?
The Alive! Expo is the Southeast’s only and longest-running event promoting ecological and natural products, green living, and total wellness for all ages. It showcases the best in natural health, wellness and awareness and promotes the use of natural products, organic foods, and eco-friendly products.
On a Mission
Alive! Expo’s mission is to inspire individuals to embrace a life of health, wellness, fitness, green living, advanced medicine research, education, nutrition, exercise and to experience the lifelong benefits of living a green, clean and healthy lifestyle.
Siewert-Towns, founder and CEO, explains the significance of the expo:
“Over the last decade, we’ve seen Atlanta’s interest and dedication to a healthy and natural lifestyle grow exponentially each year. More and more Atlanta consumers are interested in learning about and leading a healthy lifestyle. And to celebrate our tenth year, we’ve planned some exciting additions and changes from bringing new speakers and companies to expanding our gluten free vendors. We want to make this year’s event more engaging, informative and memorable than ever.”
This year's expo boasts more than 100 natural beauty products, health & wellness industry experts, over 100 vendors, interactive fitness demonstrations, and a VIP lounge with organic food and wine tasting.
There will be plenty to do throughout the weekend at Alive! Expo. Guests will experience an array of activities, including the chance to:
- Speak with ecological companies about natural food stores
- Hear the latest advice
- Get product samples and information
- Attend wellness lectures
- View healthy cooking demonstrations
- Receive complimentary mini-massages and fitness demonstrations
Ovie Mughelli, a former Atlanta Falcons fullback, will attend the event. He will present his “Recycle on the Run” program on behalf of the Ovie Mughelli Foundation. Mughelli will also assist children with running drills and teach them about fitness, wellness, and recycling.
Jordan Rubin and Kat James, both authors and wellness experts, will also be guest speakers at the expo. Rubin founded Garden of Life, Inc., and penned 19 books, while James is a radio host and the founder of the Total Transformation program.
The Alive! Wellness Expo supports the Atlanta Food Bank and Hosea Feed the Hungry. In fact, guests have donated more than 20,000 pounds of food to date. The expo hopes that this year's guests will bring even more canned goods to donate during April's event.
Alive! Wellness Expo also supports Project Green, the result of a collaboration between Patrycja Siewert Towns and others. The program seeks to protect the Earth and promote “A Green Tomorrow.” Part of the expo's ticket sales will benefit the program, which is planning a “Back to Basic” Summer camp for financially disadvantaged children and teens. The camps will emphasize self-esteem and environmental preservation.
