"It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," is a perennial Halloween favorite for kids and adults. The classic animated Halloween-themed Peanuts special, "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" airs on Halloween, on Oct. 31, 2013 (8-9 p.m. ET) on ABC Television Network.
A bonus Peanuts cartoon, "You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown," will be aired along with the Halloween special, in which Linus runs for class president. The program will air with Spanish audio via SAP.
"It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," created by late cartoonist Charles M. Schulz, features the ever-popular Peanuts kids, including Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Snoopy, Sally, Violet and Frieda. In the 1966 animated special the Peanuts gang celebrates Halloween, with Linus hoping that, finally, he will be visited by The Great Pumpkin, while Charlie Brown is invited to a Halloween party.
Cast members include Peter Robbins (Charlie Brown) and Christopher Shea (Linus). The cast also includes Sally Dryer as Lucy, Chris Doran as Schroeder, Bill Melendez as Snoopy, Kathy Steinberg as Sally, Tracy Stratford as Violet and Ann Altieri as Frieda.
"It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" stars an unlikely round-headed hero and a unique cast of young characters wiser and wittier than their years, dispensing truisms along with gentle entertainment.
